Christmas Light Installation in Old Milton
Christmas light installation on the older streets around Main Street, Martin Street and the Mill Pond.
Old Milton is the town's original grid, and its houses are the most varied in Milton: brick Victorian and Edwardian homes with steep front gables, deep porches, bay windows and decorative trim, mixed with mid-century infill. The display that suits these houses follows the architecture: the gable and porch outlined, the bay window traced, columns and railings wrapped, and the mature maple or spruce out front lit as a feature. Brick is never drilled for seasonal lights; everything hangs on clips on the eavestrough and trim. Many of these houses still have overhead service drops crossing the front yard, so trees are lit with the three metres of clearance from lines that the Electrical Safety Authority asks for. Main Street is also where the Santa Claus Parade runs in November, and owners who want to be lit for it book early in the month. Permanent lighting can work on these houses too, but the channel is laid out around the trim so it does not flatten the detail that makes them worth lighting.

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover Campbellville and rural Milton?
Yes. Campbellville, the Guelph Line and Appleby Line corridors and the rural concessions are quoted on the same basis as town streets. Longer driveways and bigger trees change the plan, not the terms.
Is my house on Milton Hydro?
If you are inside the Town of Milton, almost certainly; Milton Hydro's licence covers the Town as it stood in 1990, with a few listed exceptions. The name on your bill is the one that counts, and the Ontario Energy Board sets the price plan either way.
Can you light a whole townhouse row to match?
Yes, and in Willmott, Ford and Harrison it is often the neatest result. Each owner, or the condominium corporation, agrees to the plan in writing; the row is quoted together and each owner is invoiced for their own frontage.
